United States Shortage of medical materials: 20000 masks purchased by Chinese in the United States
Novel coronavirus pneumonia cases continue to increase in the United States, and the first-line medical and health care facilities are still in short supply. Benjamin Chen, a Chinese pastor living in California, decided to buy kn95 masks from his church partners and donate them to medical staff. The hospital expressed its thanks after receiving it.
Benjamin Chen said that as far as he knew, many hospitals in the United States really did not have masks at all, and medical staff were also in a dilemma of using one mask for five days. In response, his church recently purchased more than 20000 kn95 masks from China and donated them to medical staff for free.
Benjamin pointed out that in the early days when they bought masks, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) actually did not approve the masks, but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) thought they could use them, so they decided to deploy ahead of time and buy 10000 masks to try.
